Welcome to our blog for our 4th annual motorcycle road trip. Please indulge me while I recap the history of our annual adventures for our new friends.
Our first trip was in in 2011 when I bought a 2003 Harley Super Glide Anniversary edition on eBay. Trish and I flew to Moline (Quad Cities) Illinois with all our riding gear to pick it up.

Our second trip was to Yellowstone in 2012. We wanted to do it the first year but were prevented by the presence of several feet of snow at that time of year and elevation.

In 2013 we considered Calgary-Montana-Wyoming but opted to stay a little closer to home. More recreating and less riding. We went to the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island instead.

So this year we are doing less of the epic road trip and more of the easy close to home exploration. We always try to keep things free-form and have a few places to see but no agenda. To put it another way, nothing ruins a trip faster than a Type A with a schedule to keep "We don't have time to stop because we're running late."
We are planning on Port Orford on the Southern coast of Oregon for the 4th of July. After that, there are some places I would like to visit in Central and South Western Oregon.
The short list, Crater Lake, Natural Bridge, Fort Rock, Christmas Valley. Aside from that, if we can hit 3 or 4 ghost town or old mines, it will make for a complete week.
