Feeling Fried

Damn it's been HOT the last couple of days! Coming through Grants Pass on Sunday I thought the rubber was going to melt off the rims.

We had a nice time today poking around crater lake at the 8,100 foot level. It was pleasantly warm and not a cloud in the sky. Once we got down on Route 97 it was a different story as it was in the upper 90s and we were wishing for a few clouds.

At Diamond Lake Junction we had a fuel decision to make. Next gas 45 miles south or 10 miles north. I decided to play it safe and headed North to fuel up in Chemult. We each had a really good espresso milk shake.

So the plan is to get an early start tomorrow. If we roll out by 6:00 or 6:30 am tomorrow we can be at Fort Rock by 7:30 before it gets so damn hot. We can walk a bit and Trish can look for interesting rocks.

We may take a trip to Christmas Valley before returning to La Pine.

We have this room for two nights so we don't have to pack the bike up tomorrow.

When we check out Wednesday we are planning on going up to see Paulina Lake in the morning and then
we'll start working our way home.
